Thank you for your interest in Koshcoons! Kittens are reserved using our application process. If interested in one of our kittens please fill out an application (found on our website). You may specify a certain pair or wait on the first availbable litter. If approved you will be contacted to accept/decline a kitten when a litter is born. You may decline and wait for the next litter, a certain sex, or choice of color from another upcoming litter as well. We are located in TN and also offer delivery to your home.

Can I pick up my kitten earlier than 4 months? NO, NO, NO!! This is the number one question we get asked and the answer is always the same. You must realize that vet appts, spay/neuters, and shots are given at scheduled times in a cattery, so we cannot move those appointments and kittens cannot have surgery any sooner than 4 months old. Do NOT ask! We do our best to always accommodate delivery around your schedule AFTER kittens are vetted and have surgery.

How old are kittens when they get to come home? Our kittens are 4 months when they get to leave. Our vet will not perform surgery any younger than this.

How do I pay for my kitten? The moment you pick and reserve a kitten your deposit is due within 7 days. You can then pay however you wish. Some wait and pay it all at the end and some prefer to send smaller increments over time like payments. Full payment of you kitten is due one month before your kitten comes home.

What payment methods do you accept? We accept Venmo, Zelle and Paypal. If you do not have these accounts we may be able to make other arrangements. Please contact me personally.

Does my kitten come already spayed/neutered? Yes, kittens do not leave our home intact!

Can I pick up my kitten at your home? Only under special circumstances. My husband and I deliver our babies to your home ourselves up to a certain distance or we can meet you halfway. We only do home pickup on rare occasions.

What does my kitten come home with? Your kitten will come home with a toy pack that includes all our favorite toys here at the cattery. We work very hard to include a large variety of things. You may also choose to not get a toy pack and get a pet taxi instead. Your kitten will also come home with a few days supply of raw food, a folder of records and registration and 30 days of pet insurance via Trupanion.

What do you feed your cats? We feed a homemade raw diet in the cattery. You can find info on the main page of the website if you would like to make your own. We do also offer a small amount of dry food, but our kitten may or may not eat this as they prefer raw. We feed a couple varieties of dry that we share with the new families upon request.

Can I change my cats name? Yes you can. Your cat will be registered with our given name first and your chosen name as the middle name.

What vaccines will my cat have when I get him/her? Your kitten will have been wormed and vaccinated with rabies upon leaving our cattery. They will also have 3 FVRCP vaccine sets.

Will my kitten be registered? Yes, we register every kitten with CFA prior to leaving the cattery.

Do we allow visits in the cattery prior to pick up? No, we don's allow visits to reduce stress and germs in our cattery.

Will I get pictures of my kitten as it grows? Yes, we post at least 5 to 8 pictures per day on social media plus you will also receive texts or messenger pictures of your kitten as I have time to take them. Please do not overwhelm us by constantly asking for pictures. We have lives outside the cattery as well.

Do I need to bring my own pet taxi if we meet for pickup? Yes, we do not provide these to new parents, unless you choose one instead of a go-home toy pack.

Do you offer advice after I pick up my kitten? Yes, always! Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions about your kitten. I am available for question or issues no matter how hold your kitten is, whether its sickness, raw feeding questions, or general recommendations. We love getting pictures and messages as well so please don’t ever feel like you are a bother by sending these!

How much are your adoption fees? This will be discussed on an individual basis during the application process when you choose your kitten. You may message me to ask questions.

Do you test your cats? All of our breeding cats are genetically tested for HCM, SMA, and PkDef which are common in Maine Coons. We use Optimal Selection and My Cat Scan for all our testing. We are registered with CFA and also register each kitten individually as well prior to them going home. We also do heart echos on all parents and fecal + respiratory PCRs to make sure our cattery is free of bacteria and viruses.

Do you have a waitlist? No, we do not do a list. If interested in future kittens, please fill out an application and email this to us. Please let us know via text or email. When a new litter is born we will be using the applications on file to contact potential new owners to see if they would like to proceed with adoption. Keep in mind your application must also be approved by Koshcoons.

Can you tell me about the pet insurance my kitten comes home with? Insurance is throught Trupanion. You will receive 30 days of FREE. I personally activate this for kittens under your name before your kitten leaves. After 30 days you may renew if you wish, otherwise the policy automatically cancels. Information on this will be included in your go home packet and you will receive an email after activation.
